The 3,000sqm two storey building is home to the design, manufacture and demonstration of state of the art driving simulators and market leading vehicle test equipment.
Incorporating three large banks of north lights to make use of natural light in the office areas along with a significant part of the roof set aside for PV installation has reduced the buildings over all carbon footprint. The building achieved an energy performance certificate rating of ‘A’.
The project was located near to a residential development of new homes requiring consideration to the neighbours and close communication during the project.
The project has also been recognised by be awarded Highly Commended in the Sustainability Category at the Construction Excellence South Awards. Plus it was a Finalist in the Best Non-Residential New Build at the Local Authority Building Control Building Excellence Awards.
