The new building was built on the car park of the existing health centre and the site was a logistical challenge in ensuring the minimum of disruption was caused to the existing health centre that remained in use throughout, the public and local community.

The project was delivered over two phases. Phase 1 involved constructing the new building within the health centre site boundary, once completed there was a decant period vacating the existing health centre before phase 2 could begin.

Phase 2 involved the demolition of the existing building to create a new car park, circulation and landscaping areas.

This new building is extremely energy efficient with photo voltaic panels on the roof.

It achieved a BREEAM rating of excellent and was secured by competitive tender.
